Forest school 2020

We are very excited that Miss Thorpe has begun her training to become an accredited Forest School leader and that means we will soon be able to have campfires and cookouts.

Our new forest school cabin has arrived and EYFS have begun their sessions.

Transient Art shapes

The children explored the outdoor area looking for natural objects and materials to use for their ‘Transient Art’ shapes. It was interesting to see the different textures, shapes and colours we could find and talk about. We had the important reminder to not pick anything from a plant or tree and to listen carefully to our adult help when discovering new things.

EYFS - September 2020

The children put on their ‘listening ears’ and explored the ‘Peace Garden’ in the early Autumn sunshine. We explored the ground under the Horse Chestnut tree, found conkers and their shells and discovered the sound of the brown Autumn leaves as being “crunchy” and “crinkly”. We listened to the wind through the trees and learnt a song about Autumn changes.
