In our school, RE lessons begin with children and staff sat together in a circle and a time of reflection takes place. We create a focus area and share a hymn or some guided meditation. We really enjoy spending time reflecting on our faith and exploring the different beliefs we have in our classrooms. We discuss the stories we find in the Bible and how we can live out their message in our classroom, homes, schools, Parish and community.
We can show our learning in different ways; this may be through drama, diary entries creating leaflets or booklets and speaking and listening with our peers. We have many opportunities for prayer, including writing our own which can be then displayed in our classroom to support others in prayer.
Year 5 - St Thérèse of Lisieux
We looked at St Thérèse of Lisieux in one of our class acts of worship and the two girls put together a lovely focus area Thant helped us to think about St Thérèse.
Year 2 - The Eucharist
Other Faiths Week 2017
As part of our other faiths week we have been exploring Judaism, we have looked at some of the reasons why we are the same and what they are different. We have explored the different traditions and places of worship even making some Challah bread!
Here are some examples of what we do in RE in our quiet, thinking time and during Free flow play.

Year One have been learning about the special stories contained in the Bible during their RE lessons. They created a special focus area and gathered together in a circle.
Year Two have been learning about Baptism and what it means. Lim joined us in class and we acted out a Baptism. We listened to the story of John the Baptist baptising Jesus. We also learnt about the symbols of Baptism.
In class we have been very busy during our RE lessons, the pictures below show some of the things we have been doing. Reflection time with Lim, an assembly with Reverend Nick and a marriage re-enactment.
