Our leadership opportunities for children

We strongly believe that all children should have the opportunity to lead, support and help their peers alongside shaping their school and being the architects of their own learning.

House captains

We have four houses: Lisieux, Assisi, Lourdes and Kolbe

Each year the children in Year six stand for election as the House Captain for their house.  Each child in school then has the chance to vote for them and the school council tally the votes and the winners are announced in our Democracy Assembly

Vice-House captains

We have four houses: Lisieux, Assisi, Lourdes and Kolbe

Each year the children in Year six stand for election as the Vice-House Captain for their house.  Each child in school then has the chance to vote for them and the school council tally the votes and the winners are announced in our Democracy Assembly

Prefects

In year 6 we have prefects to support each class with the behaviour expectations and act as role models.

Each year the children in Year six stand for election as a prefect.  Each prefect is assigned a class to be responsible for. They will bring them to assembly, playtimes and lunchtimes.  Each child in school then has the chance to vote for them and the school council tally the votes and the winners are announced in our Democracy Assembly

Class ambassadors

In each class we have class ambassadors to act as role models and greet our visitors

Each year the children in each class stand for election as a class ambassador.  They will explain to their class why they think they would be a good ambassador.  Each child in class then has the chance to vote for them and the school council tally the votes and the winners are announced in our Democracy Assembly

Subject ambassadors

In each class we have subject ambassadors to act as role models and work with our staff subject leads

Reading ambassadors

In each class we have reading ambassadors to act as role models and hear their peers read each day, offer book suggestions and manage the class library.

Each year the children in each class are nominated by their teacher to be a reading ambassador. These are children who read regularly at home and are great role modes for reading. They help their classmates chose new authors and genres, manage their class library and support in using Blooms questions to extend comprehension.

Worship leads

In each class we have worship leads; they will help their peers plan and deliver class acts of worship and will lead liturgies in the class.

Each year the children in each class stand for election as a worship lead.  They will explain to their class why they think they would be a good worship lead.  Each child in class then has the chance to vote for them and the school council tally the votes and the winners are announced in our Democracy Assembly

Peer mentors

In each class we have peer mentors to act as role models and support their peers with the expectations of learning and behaviour.

Each year the children in each class stand for election as peer mentor.  They will explain to their class why they think they would be a good mentor.  Each child in class then has the chance to vote for them and the school council tally the votes and the winners are announced in our Democracy Assembly

Values ambassador

In each class we have values ambassador to act as role model of how we live out our school values

Wellbeing ambassadors

In each class we have a wellbeing ambassador to support their peers wellbeing, be someone to talk to and lead on wellbeing activities.
